Free? Tax preparation service? Why, yes! AARP Foundation Tax Aide offers free tax preparation to anyone of any age, especially if you are 50 or older or can’t afford paid tax preparation.
Taxpayers must pick up an information packet containing paperwork that needs to be completed before an appointment can be made. Instructions for
making an appointment are included in the packet. And, yes, packets are available here at the Forest Lodge Library!
Packets are also available in Ashland, Bayfield and Iron River at the library or at the Bayfield County Courthouse in Washburn or the Town of Bell Town Hall in Cornucopia.
There are some returns this service will not cover, such as married filing separately or returns involving bankruptcy. A full list is included in the information packet.
