Many things have changed this spring due to COVID-19 and the opening of the Book House for the summer of 2020 is one of them. We will not be accepting donations and will remain closed until it is safe for everyone involved.

The Book House, located in the house adjacent to and due west of the Forest Lodge Library, has been functioning as an ongoing book sale since summer 2017. We know that browsing the Book House was a much beloved activity and we very much hope we will be able to resume the service in the future!

Book House staffing relies on volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering when The Book House is able to reopen, please contact the library at 715-798-3189 or email Library Director Kristine Lendved at klendved@cable.wislib.org and your interest and contact information will be communicated to the Katie Flowers Endowment Board President.

No material donations will be accepted in 2020 and please be advised that there are some things that cannot ever be accepted and that we would encourage you to recycle, yourself. Items that will not be accepted are:

  • Textbooks
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or other abridgments
  • Dirty, damaged, mildewed or smoke-imbued books
  • Books with covers torn off
  • Advanced Reading Copies
  • VHS tapes
  • Audio tapes, books or music

The Forest Lodge Library is also not accepting donations of materials in 2020.
