The Book House, located in the house adjacent to and due west of the Forest Lodge Library, has been functioning as an ongoing book sale since summer 2017. On Saturdays and other designated days, especially July 4th, the Katie Flowers Endowment operates an ongoing book sale at the Book House. Available for purchase are books deselected from the Forest Lodge Library or donated by area residents, patrons and friends.

Book House staffing relies on volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering for a shift or a Saturday at The Book House, please contact the library at 715-798-3189 or email Library Director Kristine Lendved at klendved@cable.wislib.org and your interest and contact information will be communicated to the Katie Flowers Endowment Board President.

If you’re interested in donating books please be advised that there are some things that cannot be accepted and that we would encourage you to recycle, yourself. Items that will not be accepted are:

  • Textbooks
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or other abridgments
  • Dirty, damaged, mildewed or smoke-imbued books
  • Books with covers torn off
  • Advanced Reading Copies
  • VHS tapes
  • Audio tapes, books or music

During summer months, books can be dropped off in the vestibule of the Book House’s rear entrance. Please leave items in boxes or bags or, if you must take your containers with you, place them on vestibule shelves. After the Fall Fest weekend, please check with the library regarding donations.
