The Book House will resume accepting material donations 4/30/2022. See below for a list of accepted and acceptable items. Donations may be left in the vestibule at the back door of the Book House. If you’ve not brought them in containers that can be left behind, please check with library staff for some empty boxes.
The Book House, located in the house adjacent to and due west of the Forest Lodge Library, has been functioning as an ongoing book sale since summer 2017.

Book House staffing relies on volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering at The Book House is able to please contact the library at 715-798-3189 or email Library Director Kristine Lendved at klendved@cable.wislib.org and your interest and contact information will be communicated to the Katie Flowers Endowment Board President.
While donations ARE welcome, please be advised that there are some things that cannot ever be accepted and that we would encourage you to recycle, yourself. Items that will not be accepted are:
- Textbooks
- Encyclopedias
- Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or other abridgments
- Chicken Soup for the______ titles.
- Dirty, damaged, mildewed or smoke-imbued books
- Books with covers torn off
- Advanced Reading Copies
- VHS tapes
- Audio tapes, books or music
- Tech books over a year old
- Investing books over 5 years old
