Why, yes, something amazing DID happen in the yard between the library and the Book House!
In August, an aging and damaged white pine was removed from the property…all but a 10 foot stump! The Forest Lodge Library Board of Trustees quite liked the idea of having the stump carved and Board Trustee Mary Jean Fenske hopped right on the project and connected with Justin and Tara Howland of GRIZZWORKS in Maple, WI. Justin came up with a couple of concepts and the one you see is the one that was chosen! Justin began the project on Monday, 10/3 and the project wrapped on Saturday, 10/8. So far community response has been VERY ENTHUSIASTIC! Here are a few photos of the pole from concept to completion.
Thanks to Mary Jean for her leadership on the project and to Grizzworks for skill, talent and efficiency! We hope that YOU will visit us and take some photos with the sculpture. If you’re willing to share and are open to allowing us to put them on this website or our Facebook page, we would be most grateful.
