Library Director
Amanda Westlund
Email: awestlund@cable.wislib.org
Amanda, along with her husband, PJ, and their son, Ben, live in Mason. They have two dogs – Persey and Coco. Amanda has been an elementary educator for 24 years before coming to the Forest Lodge Library to become the director in January 2024. She loves being outside – hiking, kayaking, and swimming the most. She really enjoys the solitude of their rural Mason home and enjoys visiting the farm she grew up on, just south of Eau Claire.
She also enjoys singing and is a member of the Chequamegon Area Choir, who meet in Washburn and sing winter and spring concerts yearly. She is excited to serve the communities of Cable and Namakagon and looks forward to spreading her love of reading to more than just children. She most enjoys reading mysteries, historic fiction and children’s books.
Library Aides
Jill Reiche
Jill is a retired elementary school educator. She enjoys spending time in the beautiful outdoors with her husband, Jeff. Having shared many wonderful books with her students (and her own two children), she has seen firsthand how literature can spark interest, prod curiosity, and engage minds. Since starting her job at the Forest Lodge Library in 2022, she is most thankful for the opportunity to get to know the people who come through our doors that she gets to work with and assist each day.
Mark Parman
Mark taught English and journalism in the UW System for 27 years before retiring to Seeley. There he lives with his wife, Susan, and two English setters, Jenkins and Lewis. He enjoys both writing and reading. A few of his favorite authors — Wendell Berry, Jim Harrison, Mary Oliver, Jayne Anne Phillips, Salman Rushdie and Barry Lopez.
