CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? (picks don’t always have to be books, ya know!)
Melissa McCarthy is Lee Israel, a best selling biographer who can’t get her latest book published. She decides to start forging letters from deceased writers and playwriters to make ends meet and is soon caught up in a situation she can’t control. McCarthy plays Lee so well that she’s barely recognizable as the McCarthy we’ve seen in previous comedic roles. She did receive an Academy Award nomination for her work in this film. Richard E. Grant as her friend who work is drug dealing, Jack, is fantastic. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. I so enjoyed this one that I’m recommending it to everyone I know!
