Most of our merry plans to celebrate our 95th Anniversary were cancelled by COVID, but, with a little help from our friends the Forest Lodge Library will celebrate, anyway. We hope you will join us in doing so!
A number of area restaurants will be offering a library-themed or library-dedicated special at some time during the month of August.
To join the celebration, pick up a game card at the library, or, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to send you one!
When you visit a participating restaurant and grab a library special, they’ll verify your purchase and you’ll accrue points for every stop. Bonus points if you send us a photo of yourself enjoying the special. Turn in your game card at the end of the month and the library will draw winners and award prizes, which will be gift certificates purchased from the participating restaurants. Win, win, win…and celebrate!
Here’s what we know so far about who is participating and what they’re offering and when it will be available.
The Brickhouse. 13458 Reynolds St. in downtown Cable, is offering both a breakfast and a luncheon special for all of August! Plus, they plan to donate $1 from each purchase TO the Forest Lodge Library!
Breakfast: A yogurt/fruit and granola bowl for $10. 
Lunch: Flatbread pizza with feta, red onions, forest mushrooms and balsamic drizzle. Can we just say, SO YUMMY!

The Velo Cafe. 13425 Cty Hwy M. in downtown Cafe. The Velo will offer their very delicious Compost Cookie as the library special. They had thought about changing its name for the occasion, but, then they read a definition of compost as “organic matter that is used to nurture and stimulate growth and development of plants. A library is a source of a different kind of matter that stimulates 
growth and development.” So true, so true! We, too, like the parallel.

The Cable Cafe The Cable Cafe. 43465 US Hwy 63. Grab a cookie! All cookies are library cookies in August.

The Rivers Eatery. 43455 Kavanaugh Rd in downtown Cable. They plan to offer the special beginning 8/12 and through the end of August. The Library Creek Pizza will include potatoes, olive oil, Canadian bacon, carmelized onion, roasted red pepper, cheese and Wisconsin maple syrup, 
which is served on the side.Does that not sound amazing? Does that not sound good?

Tilly’s Pies is adjacent to The Rivers Eatery and Tilly’s pies are purveyed both through the Eatery 
and out of a pick-up window in the building set back in the parking lot. Tilly’s will be offering Old Log Cabin Library Pretzel Pie, an amazing combination of peanut butter and chocolate flavors on a pretzel crust. Salty and sweet! Oh, my! Director Lendved almost wishes she had never tried it because it’s just. so. good.

Ammo’s Evergreen. 20105 Cty Hwy M. We’ll let you know when they let us know! $1 from each library special posted will be donated to the Forest Lodge Library. Through the month of August!
Tali will offer their Parmesan Chicken Wrap as the “library special.” $8. Romaine, Parmesan 
peppercorn dressing, diced chicken and Parmesan cheese in a garden herb tortilla. Served with chips.

The Lakewoods. 21540 Cty Hwy. M. P.C. suggested that Walleye Fingers would be the library-dedicated special in August.

The Loon Saloon. 45135 Cty Hwy D. The Loon’s Prime Rib Panini will have Library Designation for the month of August. That’s seasoned prime rib with American and pepper jack cheese melted over and horseradish on the side. Sound good? We think so!

We are so grateful to these local restaurants for helping us celebrate this year when, frankly, celebrating is tough! Please patronize these businesses and…we can’t wait to see photos of YOU enjoying your LIBRARY SPECIAL. Whether you eat in or take out is entirely up to you!
