Who doesn’t love lagniappe which means “a little something extra”…especially when it’s free…AND a surprise! KANOPY and your library system has that to offer you this month.
Our patrons ordinarily are entitled to 5 KANOPY credits per month. This month…that’s 8. Yes…eight credits to spend and thousands of movies, documentaries and series to choose from. Right now they’re also offering a Sci-Fi September selection of futuristic films…including a recent Oscar winner, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. If you haven’t seen it yet…here’s your chance. Some of us are planning to watch it again.
Another title to recommend: TROLL HUNTER, a Norwegian mockumentary about, you guessed it, a troll hunter. Very fun if you enjoy watching films with your tongue in cheek!
If you haven’t previously signed up for Kanopy, here’s where it’s done! You’ll need your library card #…and, of course, be sure to keep track of your username (email) and the password you assign yourself.

This will take you to a screen requiring you to input your patron barcode, a.k.a. library card #. (If you don’t quite know where your card is, give the library a call at 715-798-3189 or email, cablelibrary@cable.wislib.org. and we’ll remind you of your library card number.) You’ll be forwarded to the Kanopy home page. Here you’ll be required to create an account. As always, we encourage you to write down your username and password so you’ll be able to log in to all your devices!
After that all you have to do is figure out what the heck to watch! We expect you’ll find the watchlist feature very useful!
