A reader might get the impression from the Forest Lodge Library’s website that all Director Kristine Lendved ever reads are thrillers. That is not the case. Indeed, I enjoy thrillers, but my tastes include other genres, as well. Like literary, paranormal and…historical fantasy.
Which, no, is really not even a little bit like historical fiction.
I have just finished reading the 8th offering in Genevieve Cogman’s THE INVISIBLE LIBRARY series. THE UNTOLD STORY, like all that came before it…was great! The characters are smart and strong. The world-building is complex and multi-layered and…fascinating!
Irene Winters is a Librarian. The Library, the Invisible Library, exists outside of time and space and it’s principal function is to keep the universe of many known worlds in balance by…occasionally sneaking into a world to steal a book that shouldn’t be there. Or shouldn’t be there yet. Maybe returning one. Sounds simple, but, it isn’t. The energies that must be kept in balance are that of Order, represented by Dragons, and chaos, represented by the Fae.
If you like smart characters and engaging plots and rollicking action, I really cannot see how any reader might fail to enjoy this series. DO give it a try!
