April is Poetry Month and we always like to do something to celebrate here at the Forest Lodge Library! This year’s Poetry Challenge invites you to choose one of a series of five sets of words and to include them in a poem of any style or length! You’ll find the word sets below. You could also pick up a hard copy at the library, or, we’d be happy to send one your way…just give a call!
Any meaning of provided words is acceptable. For example, current can mean “at the present time” or “movement of a river.” Either use would be correct. You may also use any form of the word, to render it plural or to change the tense. For example sprout could be “sprouts” or “sprouted” or “sprouting.”
Please return your poem to the library by May 1. You could email it (klendved@cable.wislib.org) or drop off a hard copy(or mail to P O BOX 176, Cable, WI 548210…or record yourself reading it and send it to us on Facebook! (or as an email attachment.)
Winners will be chosen and prizes will be awarded! Have some fun and choose a word set and write a poem!
