It was perhaps 11 years ago when Claire Parker started coming to the Forest Lodge Library. Lots has happened since then! She got a younger brother and sister. In recent changes, her parents, Chris and Amy Parker, purchased The Rivers Eatery in downtown Cable. This year, in conjunction with National Library Week…and a Poetry Reading event planned for The Rivers, Claire came up with a bright idea to raise some funds for the library. She enlisted the assistance of her siblings, Mel and Cora, and created a “donation tree” that bears some resemblance to the logo her mother, Amy, created for the library some years ago. They painted rocks with library themed phrases and created other “incentives” to encourage folks to make a donation to the Forest Lodge Library. She had HOPED to raise $250…and today she came to the library to delivery $415!!! How amazing is that?!?!?
Connecting with Claire through the years has been one of my great joys as the director of the Forest Lodge Library. I’d like to share some photos taken of her at a very young age…and recreations accomplished today…when we gratefully accepted her wonderful donation. Thanks to Claire…and the whole Parker and Rivers family for your wonderful support of YOUR Forest Lodge Library!
