The Forest Lodge Library and Redbery Books invite you to kick off your 4 th of July weekend with some Straight Talk from the Heartland. Author and entrepreneur John Torinus will talk about his recently published book at a presentation and meet and greet event to be held at The Rivers courtyard from 2:30 until 4:00 on Friday, July 1st . Books will be available for sale and signing. Should the weather not cooperate, we will be inside. Beverage service will be available.
John is the owner, former CEO and chairman of a 500-person Wisconsin manufacturing company. He also spent 20 years as a newspaper editor and columnist. He has dug deep into a wide range of public policy issues pivotal to the Wisconsin and U.S. economies. His essays and commentary are grounded in real world experience. He is non-partisan, pragmatic and offers non-partisan solutions from a ground level perspective.
Torinus has written two prior books about managing health care costs. In this most recent title, Straight Talk from the Heartland: An Entrepreneur’s Memoir, Torinus recounts his business life where-in he has often served as an entrepreneur and agent of change and recovery. He jokes that he might have named it: Everything I learned about business, I learned by screwing up. In fact, it is a tale about a life well and thoughtfully lived.
