In the summer of 2017 the Town of Cable, via the Town of Cable Plan Commission, launched a “visioning” effort to consider the future of the community under the umbrella of Cable Tomorrow. An initial June session invited public input on roads, housing, emergency and other local services, public safety, recreation and economic development. Follow-up meetings focused on topics individually. Cable Tomorrow committees worked to establish goals and action items based on public input and developed a plan to accomplish those goals.
Now that several years have passed, the Town of Cable would like to invite the community let them know how they feel about work that has been done and bring them up to date on projects that are still in process. A lot has happened since 2017! There’s the Cable Community Trail, Public Restrooms, a campground. The Forest Lodge Library has been working on a Facility Expansion Plan and is interested in receiving feedback on the existing proposal. Work has been done to develop a Recreation Plan and to outline the steps necessary to acquire a Short Term Rental permit in the Town of Cable. Let us bring you up to date on all the developments!
This listening session will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Cable Community Centre at 6:30. Please plan to attend. Representatives of the Town of Cable Plan Commission, The Town Board and members of various committees serving the Cable Tomorrow effort will be there to listen to what you have to say.
