10/2/2020 – What? Fat Bear Week? It’s happening right now…in fact, half gone. But…you can still vote for the Fattest Bear in the Brooks River at Katmai National Park by going here. And, here is a link to a Washington Post article on the subject. Fat Bears!
Summer had us a little distracted, but, with increasing signs of summer’s end (which some of us are really happy about) we’re reminded to share some fresh resources with you!
8/25/2020 We aren’t the only ones who love Wes Tank! (see 5/2 listing.) Since our last posting he has a contract with a kid’s content streaming app, KidoodleTV to create a series of Story Raps based on classic fairy tales. KidoodleTV itself is worth checking out or look for his raps, including some of the Suess raps, on Youtube.
Closer to home, the annual Chequamegon Children’s Theater summer production was yet another casualty of COVID-19. In the fine tradition of “the show must go on” CCT personnel, current players and alumni put together this delightful cabaret, Dream Your Dreams. Sit back, tune in and enjoy a little over an hour of performances from some of your favorite CCT stars!
5/2/2020 – Wes Tank’s Dr. Suess raps have been all over social media, but, if you have somehow not managed to encounter them, let that end today! This Milwaukee filmmaker and performer has been cranking these videos out from home and…they are great! This link will take you directly to his Youtube channel: Wes Tank. 4/23/2020 – Take in the films of the Omnitheater at the Science Museum of Minnesota…without leaving your living room! Scroll down just a bit, past the part where it says they’re closed, TO the part where it says OMNIFEST AT HOME. Watch films about dinosaurs, mummies or the wild ocean! Also worth a visit is their LEARN FROM HOME page!
4/22/2020 – HAPPY EARTH DAY! On this day we’d like to recommend the resources of our neighbor and friend the Cable Natural History Museum who have compiled a wonderful list of things to do and places to to visit, virtually, in celebration of Earth Day. 4/10/2020 – Spend Easter Sunday with Andrea Bocellli! His “Music for Hope” livestream will air at noon here in the Central Time zone. Here’s the link: Bocelli: Music for Hope. Broadcasting from the historic Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy the singer will be accompanied by Cathedral accompanist Emanuele Vianelli. Bocelli wishes to share a “message of love, healing and hope.” Tune in!

Well…you CAN stay in and listen to music recorded live in Austin as Austin City Limits opens up its archive so you can stream current concerts as well as those from recent years. Roslia? Billie Eilish? Yep. Steve Earle & the Dukes, Gary Clark, Jr., Willlie Nelson, Khalid? The Austin City Limits stage has long showcased fine performers across genres and age demographics. 3/30/2020 – So, ready to go somewhere, ANYwhere but here? Follow this link to a Washington Post article that, itself, offers links to a dozen virtual tours of fabulous places you WILL want to visit…like the Vatican Museum or the Guggenheim, the San Diego Zoo, or, how about Yellowstone or Yosemite National Parks?
